We are all moved | summer + my kids

We are all moved and internet hooked up and all of that good stuff! All caught up on emails even, woot woot!  It’s a HOT one here this weekend, here are a few of my kiddos playing outside tonight. They are getting so big. As of Thursday I will have a 4th grader and a kindergartner! Kindergarten is all day here and this will be the first time in nine years that I don’t have a kiddo here with me during the weekday, it’s going to be weird. Maybe I will be caught up on work for once……OR mimosa breakfast time (ha, kidding!)

I love these popsicle molds. $3.99 from Fresh and Easy. I think I need to make some Ciroc Coconut Vodka + pineapple juice ones for mama. ;)

A + M | Los Angeles Couple Photographer

This was a fun session, you guys are awesome! I haven’t been much outside of hotel rooms lately so it was fun to go outdoors and do a couple session with this great (and adorable!) couple! Aren’t they cute? Ahh, love!

P.S.  I am moving officially tonight! Have a great weekend everyone!

New Goodies | Los Angeles Boudoir Photographer

Here are a couple shots of the new goodies (aka albums and discs) that went out this week. The 8×8 album is Obsidian and the 5×7s are Lusterin’ Hot (suede-ish feel) and the Whitesnake (the one I did my own album in too so I am partial.)  I love when the albums come in! The finished product is so much fun.

Oooh, also..I have an opening left for Chicago due to a cancellation.  It’s for 1 pm on Sunday, September 4th.  If you want it, give me a holler! (Or if you know anyone in Chicago, feel free to pimp me. HAHA!) It’s at a killer location that is going to look amazing in images! Still have openings for Nashville in November as well. One more thing, I am moving in a week (again!) This time to LA so if I am slow to respond for a few days, it’s because my internet is getting hooked up and all of that moving garbage that is no fun.  Ooh, and I am doing some “what to wear” posts coming up in a few so be on the lookout if you need ideas. ;) Have a fantastical weekend everyone!

Goodbye to our boxer boy, Zeke.

We got Zeke in December 2001 when he was 5 weeks old. We had been trying to have a baby for awhile and couldn’t so we said “Let’s just get a puppy.” We had just bought our first house and decided to go for it.  I had been circling boxer “ads” in the Pennysaver and leaving them open on the kitchen counter as a hint to my husband. LOL One day he came home with a a puppy. He was tiny.  The runt and also the cheapest one.  When they said “clearance puppy” in Marley and Me, we all looked at each other like “hey, we have one of those!” He instantly was like our kid, slept in our bed, sat next to us on the couch, and went in the car to “grandma’s house.”

Two months after we got him, I turn up pregnant.  I remember housetraining a puppy with chronic morning (all day!) sickness was not fun. But he was always an awesome dog, even when the baby came (and even when he chewed a container of greasy Lansinoh breast cream all over our brand new carpet!)  He was never weird with Jevin (our son) at all.  He instantly took backseat a little bit and was still happy. Even when Daphne came and he got booted from our bed to a dog bed on the floor next to the bed.

He would have made 10 years old in October.  About a year ago he started limping his back foot.  Turns out he had degenerative myelopathy, a spine disorder that eventually causes paralysis in the hind legs. It got worse and worse, he had to be carried up the stairs and lost bowel control. He just looked so pitiful, poor guy.  Today I had to take him in and he died in my arms.  It’s been a tear filled day here in the Hayes house. He was definitely a good boy! Picture from this morning.
